PROFHILO IS NOT A DERMAL FILLER

Although dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, Profhilo is slightly different. Unlike dermal fillers, it works in harmony with your body by helping it regain its own natural hyaluronic acid (which reduces as we age) and it also helps stimulate additional production of collagen and elastin, thus leaving your skin more youthful-looking, tighter and rejuvenated.

What is Profhilo?

The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a revolutionary ‘beneath the skin’ hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. This results in a unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into skin, Profhilo stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.

One of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo not only boosts and hydrates the skin but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.

How it works?

Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is precisely injected into the area being treated. Unlike wrinkle reducing and dermal filler treatments, Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin, attracting water in the deeper layers of the skin.

As a stabilised product, the activity on dermal cells will last longer than that of a non-stabilised gel. During this time the stimulation of four different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of hyaluronic acid.

The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.

Who Is Profhilo Suitable For?

Profhilo is a truly universal treatment, suitable for patients in their late 20s and older. So there are two distinct categories for Profhilo patients. Specifically:

Preventative: Younger patients from late 20s and older who are keen to maintain and stimulate the body’s natural cell renewal cycles, producing fresher, clearer, glowing skin

Restorative: More mature patients who wish to address existing depletion, including lost significant suppleness and firmness, increased laxity, noticeable dullness and creases in the skin

How many treatments will I need?

To achieve the best long-lasting results, two treatments are recommended with a four week interval. Some people may see the results within first week, but the best outcomes of the treatment will be visible four weeks after the second treatment.

Pre-treatment for Profhilo®

Avoid having any alcohol the day before your treatment as this will help to minimise the chance of bruising. Also, we recommend in the week before your treatment, try to avoid taking aspirin, ibuprofen or any other type of anti-inflammatory medication as this will reduce your risk of swelling and bruising. Ask your medical practitioner for further advice if you have any concerns.

Profhilo® aftercare

Profhilo® treatment should not affect your daily life too much. Our medical advice is that you should avoid wearing make-up, expect for mineral-based make-up after the treatment.

We also recommend that you do not go to the gym, or use its facilities like the sauna, steam-room or swimming pool on the same day as treatment. You should also avoid touching the treated areas as this increases the risk of infection.
